DreamSnaps Explained: How to Use DreamSnaps

DreamSnaps is the unique community-driven photo mode feature that was introduced to Disney Dreamlight Valley in July 2023 that rewards players with the likes of furniture, clothing, and even Moonstones.

This comprehensive guide will detail everything you need to know about DreamSnaps, including how the event challenges work, how to submit DreamSnap photo entries, and all the unique rewards you can unlock for participating in the weekly challenges.

DreamSnaps is best explained as a competitive photo mode that will test your creativity with weekly themed challenges that will reward winners with Moonstones and Scrooge's Store furniture or clothing.

There are two steps to unlocking the DreamSnaps feature. First, you'll need to complete Scrooge McDuck's new friendship quest, The Haunting of Dreamlight Valley.

Once you have found and unlocked Vanellope, you'll then need to complete her first quest, Faith, Trust, and Pixel Dust, before moving her into the Valley as a permanent resident.

Once Vanellope has officially moved into the Valley, you'll unlock the full functionality of the DreamSnaps feature.

Every Wednesday at 1 PM UTC, a new weekly DreamSnaps challenge will appear in your Event tab. Here you can find a brief description of the challenge theme, which will state whether you require Furniture or Clothing to complete the challenge.

One such example could be furniture items tagged as Playful or Familiar items.

Once you have designed the perfect outfit or decorated setting with the challenge requirements that meet the weekly theme, use Photo Mode to "snap" a photo. If your photo meets the weekly theme requirements, you can submit your photo straight from Photo Mode!

The easiest way to find items that fit the required DreamSnaps Challenges is to go to your Inventory and select the All category. From here, select the small toggle button that's located by the Filters button.This will filter all of the items that meet the required tag. Now, place down the required items in a close enough area that you can capture them all in one photo.

It's important that you take careful note of the mandatory and suggested item tags, though, as they'll play an important factor in your final challenge score. The aim is to achieve the highest final score, as the more Pixel Dust you receive, the more you'll level up on the DeamSnaps level track, unlocking rewards such as Furniture and Moonstones.

Once you have unlocked DreamSnaps, simply take a take photo with your camera. Once snapped, toggle the DreamSnaps menu (D on PC) and agree to submit your picture to the DreamSnaps network.

The first way to unlock rewards is by participating in DreamSnaps weekly challenges and voting on other Valley Villagers' weekly photo submissions.

From the Event tab, select the Vote Now button and vote for your favorite DreamSnaps photos! You can earn 50 Moonstones by voting.

All Villagers who submit a photo for the weekly DreamSnaps challenge will earn a minimum of 300 Moonstones and one random furniture or clothing item from Scrooge's Store. The top five Villages who received the most votes can receive up to 5,500 Moonstones!
